Phoenix, Arizona – Gather and Grow, a program designed to help its community experience gardening in a variety of innovative ways, has received a $10,000 grant from The International Caterers Association Educational Foundation (ICAEF), acknowledging the program’s outstanding contributions to food awareness within its community.
“The ICAEF Grant enables us to expand the work we do at schools here in South Phoenix to include catering education” says Greg Brownell, president of Gather and Grow. “We have already begun working towards implementing this resourceful educational program into our current program, as well as looking towards expanding our programs to other schools in the South Phoenix area.”
Lon Lane, Immediate Past Chairman of the ICAEF, also notes the significance of this support to Gather and Grow. “Our grant will help them enhance curriculum development, fund educational events, facilitate instructor training, and produce educational materials.”
“The ICAEF Grants program is essential to our mission to expand our reach and create a strong catering community,” says Brittney Melnick, ICAEF Chairwoman. “We are dedicated to making a positive difference in the industry and in the work of our grantees well into the future.”
